What Is A Seer Rating

When it comes to air conditioning what does SEER mean?

SEER is an acronym for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio which is defined by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute in its standard ARI 210/240, Performance Rating of Unitary Air-Conditioning and Air-Source Heat Pump. Other acronyms that are closely related include; EER, COP and HSPF. We will address all these terms in a future blog issue, so bookmark us and return for the latest information.

The Bottom Line is this; the higher the unit’s SEER rating the more energy efficient it is.
